New Radiant's chairman Ali Azim has been elected for the Chairman place in the first ever election of FAM. Vice Chairman post was won by Valencia's candidate Mohamed Rasheed (Hiyaly).
Azim who competed with Kaleem for the Chairman post got seven votes out of eleven, and four votes balance was to Kaleem.
With Mohamed Rasheed (Hiyaly), Mauroof Ahmed (Mattey) and Mohamed Adam competed for the Vice Chairman post. Hiyaly won the race by getting six votes while Mohamed Adam deserved three and two votes were won by Mauroof Ahmed (Maattey).
Five members elected for the Executive Committee were;
1- Wisham from Vyansa,
2- Ahmed Mohamed (Dhona) from Guraidhoo,
3- Thaufeeg from Eagles,
4- Mahidh from BG
5- Naseem (Paris) from Victory..
FAM election was supervised by FIFA and AFC members and they were auspicious about the election and they told that "this was one of the fair and best election held in the South Asian Region".
FIFA appointed interim comity will work with newly eected FAM comity for some few days.
