Permission Granted for the Meeting to Register Republicans

The Republican Party authorized to inaugurate a gathering to register the party yesterday. The permission to register the Republicans was given to Ahmed Nashid, one of the two Honorable members from Dhaalu Atoll in the Parliament, also the rhetoric who happen to criticize the teachers’ pressure to the government for pay rise, to hold the meeting.

He was granted the permission as he submitted the criteria which requires 3000 members whose signatures accountable, to the Commissioner of Elections. They had requested to hold the mandatory 300 member meeting where the Commissioner of Elections present approves the registration and give the legitimacy to the party.

Speaking to reporters a senior member Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan confirmed the permission from the commission but said the party’s manifesto and logo is still under construction and had not decided the agenda for general regulation. He said under these circumstances the party had not concluded a date and venue for the meeting. He did not say the meeting would be held in an Island or in Male’.
