A foreign national has not been appointed as the spokesperson for the country, Information Ministry revealed.
Noora, Assistant Director Media Relations said, “Certainly a foreign national has not been appointed as spokesperson yet. We are a team assigned to carryout that task and we can do the job.”
When asked if Information Ministry was able to carryout the task of providing information about the government which was previously carried out by president’s office, Noora said that her ministry carried out the job perfectly.
According to Noora the function of the Information Services Section of Information Ministry and the press conference facility called Fansavees were part of her ministry’s mandate to disseminate information.
The Strategic Communications Unit that ran under president’s office previously would be transferred under Information Ministry within the next two months according to Noora.
The only officials to have filled the position of Government Spokesman are Dr. Shaeed and Mohame Hussain Shareef since its formation.
