Yamin says he will contest


Abdulla Yamin, the former Higher Education Minister as well as the key person behind the fledgling People’s Alliance which is in the final stages of obtaining official registration status has revealed that if the party’s council decides to contest the forthcoming presidential elections and that if the council decision is that he should be their presidential candidate, he will follow the council’s decision and join the presidential race.

He made the statement while addressing the party’s supporters of Maradhoo and Maradhoo Feydhoo in a function held in Bed Rock restaurant of Maradhoo. Yamin and other key officials of the People’s Alliance are currently on a tour of Addu Atoll to seek support for the party as well as to explain and brief the citizens of party’s objectives and policies.

Yamin , after the function at Bed Rock restaurant spoke and expressed more less the same . He said his party received tremendous support from Addu atoll and it was what he had anticipated and hoped for.

Yamin’s colleague, Meemu atoll MP Ahmed Nazim speaking on the objectives of the visit to addu atoll said the visit was aimed gaining support for the party, increasing party’s members as well as to brief the citizens of party polices and objectives. He also said the visit was a huge success.
