Former Attorney General and an independent presidential candidate Dr. Hassan Saeed have said that the objective of his presidential manifesto is to establish an environment where all citizens can lead a happy and a dignified life.
Dr. Hassan made the statement while addressing the people of Holhudhoo and Magoodhoo of Noonu atoll. Hassan in his address to the islanders said that objective of his manifesto is to provide an atmosphere where each and every family can lead their lives together in a happy and dignified manner. Hassan promised to develop 4 regional centers, to establish a health care system that will do away with the current practice of ‘begging from the rich to get medical care’, to provide an education system, to create an environment where husbands can take up jobs near their families. Hassan said under his leadership each and every citizen will witness a happy life that has never been experienced before.
According to Hassan one of the main reasons for the increased addiction to illegal drugs and weakening of faith in the country is that parents and children have to live separately. He said while the father has to live in a separate island to earn the families livelihood, the children has to live in another island to go to school. Hassan noted that the current government has not made adequate effort to establish ways where families can stay together as a family and bring up their children.
Hassan noted that teaching in sessions in schools limits the time families spend together as well as reduce the quality of education given to students. Hassan said his manifesto proposes to change teaching in schools to one session in order to provide more time for families to spend together.
Dr. Hasaan Saeed is currently touring the islands of Noonu, Raa, Baa and Lhaviani atoll. He is expected to visit N. Fohdhoo , Raa atoll Alifushi and Hulhuhfaaru.
