Don’t elect incapable leaders – Dr. Hassan


Presidential candidate Dr. Hassan Saeed has called on the people to abstain from supporting incapable leaders and to refrain from selling their votes. Dr. Hassan made the call addressing the islanders of Noonu atoll.

According to a media release issued by Maldives Reform Movement Hassan is currently touring Noonu,Raa,Baa and Lhaviani atoll. Hassan yesterday visited Maafaru, Miladhoo and Holhudhoo of Noonu atoll and addressed the people of these islands. In his address Hassan highlighted the dangers of letting the country go in to the hands of businessmen. He further said the present government is a government that has failed several times and that to provide further opportunity to the government will cloud the country’s future.

According to Hassan the biggest problem in the country is lack of equality. He said the country’s wealth is going in to the hands of a small minority group because priority is not given to the best interests of the people. He said deterioration of the country’s economy in the past 3 years is mainly due to raising the interests of a few over the best interests of the country and its people.

Hassan also briefed the people on the policies he will follow in a government formed under his leadership. In this regard he talked about a health insurance scheme and a social security system. He promised that no child, male or female, will have to go without a proper education due to lack of money.

Hassan is expected to visit Magoodhoo and kendhikulhudhoo some time to day.
