Jumhooree Party to establish people’s government

Jumhoory Party (JP) will establish a people’s government, JP’s leader and billionaire turned politician Qasim Ibrahim has said. Qasim made the statement speaking at the closing ceremony of the party’s first national conference held last Friday evening.

Speaking at the conference Qasim said the big question is to whom the people should hand over the powers of the government or the responsibility of managing the affairs of the people. Qasim said the people must entrust this huge to responsibility to those who are able and capable, who will be loyal and honest and who will be just and trustworthy.

“They or the party should be from the people, by the people and for the people or in other words they will be loyal sons and daughters of the country determined to achieve a common objective; JP with the will Almighty, is party worthy of this responsibility” Qasim said.

Qasim further said during the transition in to a democracy we should not confront each other and that it is not a specific person or a group of people who are our enemy but that the enemy is the system of government which we have been following all these years.

“Our enemy is the system which deprived our rights; our enemy is the system which established social differences among us, the system which gave way to corruption and drugs, the system which deprived us from living in proper homes and forced us to beg to get medical care” JP’s leader and presidential Qasim said.

Qasim said what we are witnessing today is the end of a dictatorship and the dawn of democracy, the transfer of powers from a selected few to its rightful owners, the people.

We should not stop at this, establishing a democracy does not change ‘the country to a bed of roses’ and that if the opportunity is not used wisely the country may have to face the dangers of going through a jungle full of thorns, Gasim said.

“It is our responsibility to ensure that the revolutionary changes we are embracing does not turn in to typhoon of hatred and jealousy, we have a responsibility to establish an atmosphere of peaceful coexistence, to work together with a common goal for the betterment of the country” Qasim said.

Qasim said that the times ahead provides the opportunity to work for the development of the country and that during this time we must ensure the foundation of the democracy remains firm and strong.

“The foundation we lay today is going to be our gift for the future generations, it is going to be foundation on which this country is going to build years of happiness and prosperity, a foundation that will remove the social differences, hatred and jealousy, a foundation that will protect our future “said JP’s presidential candidate Qasim.
