Parliament Envoy Left for Common wealth Nations Parliamentary Association Meeting in Malaysia


A parliamentary delegation left to Malaysia to participate at the 35th Common Wealth Nations Parliamentary Meeting. The meeting also coincides with the 28th small states conference and the parliamentary delegation includes envoys to participate the conference.

Ibrahim Shaheed Zaki the parliamentary member from the Maalhos Madulu Uthuru Buri leading the delegation is accompanied by colleague member from the same Atoll Mr. Ali Waheed and the general secretary of the parliament Ahmed Mohamed.

The 1st to 10th August parliamentary meeting will discuss about the environmental issues, development on the priority agenda with widening law makers’ role in constructing security laws.

Aiming at small branch conference in small states conference the agenda will be looking into sustainable development and the maintenance of clean water and waste management. , The leader of the Maldives delegation presenting in his paper aims to curb the conflicts of interest in small states with reducing corruption and to tackle the challenges rising in elections. The conference takes its heights to sustain small states in international community.
