Anni reveals his Health care Policy


Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Presidential Candidate Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) yesterday revealed his presidential campaign promise on establishing an adequate health care system.

Anni speaking at a news conference held MDP Haruge in Male’ , after completing his campaign trips to atolls Anni said a government formed under his leadership will eliminate the current practice of begging for medical care. He said under his government people will not subjected to begging as health care will provided to them. He also said a universal health care system is a fundamental aspect of a modern democracy.

Speaking on the basic features of the system Anni said medical care services of international standards will be made available and each and every citizen will be provided with a medical insurance. He further said he will open up the country to foreign insurance service providers. He further said he will, by the will of the Almighty Allah; he will do everything in his power to fulfill these promises made on behalf on MDP.

Responding to questions posed by the media Anni said his campaign trip to Addu atoll was a huge success. He said he received far greater support from the people of the atoll than ever before. Anni also said he is greater encouraged by the confidence support and love he is getting from the people of the atolls.

Anni responding to media questions on his running mate said that discussions are under with in the party on the subject. He said his running mate will be a much appreciated person like ‘a Bodu Katheeb’ (Senior Island Chief). However the Bodu katheeb will also be a capable, educated person with no gender bias.
