Munavvar not seeking to be running mate



Former MDP President Dr. Mohamed Munavvar has said that he joined Jumhoory Party (JP) not with the intention of seeking any important position and that he is not seeking to be a running mate of any candidate. Dr. Munavvar made the statement miadhu daily.

When asked about the ongoing public speculation that Munavvar joined JP with an invitation to be the party’s running mate but that some key JP members are opposing the idea, Munavvar replied that he is not interested to be the running mate position. He also said he was not been invited to be the party’s running mate either.

“I joined JP after members were elected to various important positions of the party, I have no intention of being a running mate for any candidate, I am not going to accept even if offered” said Munavvar who many thought will be running mate to JP leader Qasim.

Presidential Candidate of JP Qasim Ibrahim has said that in the coming week he will select his running mate.
