Adhaalath Party’s nominee for the Election Commission (EC) Ahmed Sameer was included in the list submitted by Red Wave Saleem for the registration of Poverty Eliminating Party(PEP) was without the knowledge of Sameer, Leader of Adhaalath Party Sheikh Hussain Rasheed has said. Shiekh Rasheed made the statement speaking to Maidhu Daily last night.
“It is robbery, Saleem has signed by himself, he must have stolen a copy of Sameer’s ID card, it is Abdulla Hameed’s party (Senior Minister) , it won’t be difficult for Abdulla Hameed’s party to steal a copy of an ID card, copies of the ID cards are kept in all offices” said Sheikh Hussain Rasheed.
Leader of Adhaalath Party Sheikh Rasheed further said that Jumhoory Party has commenced its campaign trips to the atolls and that a party delegation was already is Kaafu atoll. Campaigning activities will increase as the election draws nearer. Party relations with other parties as well as relations within the party have strengthened due to the Jumhoory Coalition, Sheikh Rasheed.
The name of Sameer was included in the list provided by Red Wave Saleem to the Elections Commission’s office without the consent and knowledge of Sameer and that Adhaalath party will take the matter to the courts, Chief Spokesperson of Adhaalath Party Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said.
When asked about speculations that there is dissatisfaction among members on the coalition with Jumhoory Party and many members are quitting the party, Sheikh Rasheed said the speculations are unfounded and has no bearing on the facts.
“They are all lies, this coalition has brought strength to the Adhaalath Party, all our members support it, and there is no dissent within our ranks, this all a political game” Sheikh Rasheed said.
Chief Spokesperson Mohamed Shaheem said as the law suit against Red Wave Saleem will be filed by Sameer; Adhaalath Party will do what ever it can to assist him. Shaheem said the suit will be filed sometime this week and that party’s Council of Judges will provide all possible assistance to Sameer.
