Dr. Ahmed Raazee has been demoted from the post of Director General of Medical Services to the post of Deputy Director General of Medical Services.
The demotion came after Dr. Raazee spoke in a news conference organized by "Wathan edhey gothah" Alliance at K. Maafushi. He is also a senior consultant at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
According to the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Dr. Raazee was demoted as he breached the civil service act and took part in a political activity against the Code of Conduct of Civil Service.
The action was taken as according to the article 53 of the civil service act.
CSC has been taking action against Civil Servants participating in political activities and also advising them not to breach the civil service act. Youth Ministry's Mohamed Hanim was also demoted for breaching the civil service act.
