There are many mistakes in the newly published Dhivehi translation of the Holy Quran and it should not be accessed without correcting the mistakes, Jamiyyathul Salaf has said.
An article published in the website of the Salaf said that the Arabic letter "Noonu" was missing in the verse 133 of Surah Al- baqaraa and further reviw has revealed more such mistakes.
Salaf said that religious scholars are reviewing the new translation of the holy Quran and so far they have found "Noonu" missing from 100 verses.
Some verses which is missing the letter include 12th and 40th verse of Surah al- Naba', 5th and 36th verse of Surah Abasa, 27th verse of Surah Muthaffifeen, 24th verse of surah al-Fajr and 5th verse of Surah Shams.
Salaf said that it would be unlawful to use this translation of the Holy Quran as meaning of a verse would change even if a single letter is missing.
They have advised and called upon the government and the people to immediately stop the distribution of Quran translation to the people and remove the copies of the translation at the mosque. They also called for a complete review of the translation of the holy Quran.
