Male',Maldives:Joint Parliamentary Group to End Government Abuse in the Parliament


Male',Maldives:A joint Parliamentary group was formed in the parliament to stop the government influencing the parliament floor and to boost works done in the parliament fair.

Speaking at a Coalition news conference, Ibrahim Ismail (Ibra), the leader of the joint parliament group said that the group was formed under a deal made with an agreement between members of the coalition and members to the group were also selected after discussing among the members of the coalition.

Ibra said the group would be consisted of 17 members.

Members for the group was announced by Mohamed Shareef, Thaa Atoll member in the parliament, and he said, the group leader will be Male’ member Ibrahim Ismail, Ibra. Deputy leaders of the joint parliamentary group are Abdulla Jabir and Maria Ahmed Didi, both honorable members of the parliament. The whips in the group will be Honorable Moosa Maniku (Ricoh) and Honorable Ibrahim Mohamed Salih.

The MDP parliamentary group member and Faadhippolhu member in the parliament Ibrahim Mohamed Salih said that the aim of this joint parliamentary group is to avoid government influencing the sessions as the people of the Maldives desired for a change in the government. He said the group would be working together with the people of the Maldives for the benefit of the people.
