Unknown people editing Voters' registry

We have received reports that some unknown people are editing the voters' registry being prepared for the 2nd round of Presidential Elections.

A very reliable source wishing to be anonymous said that Elections Commissions server at Nasandhura Palace Hotel is connected to a server at Department of National Registration.

While the Elections Commission is uploading the voters' names to their data base via a web based data base specially prepared for the elections, there have been reports that some unknown people has uploaded some other names to the data base earlier.

The informant said that they have noticed since last Tuesday that there are three to four names with one ID card number in the list.

When contacted the Elections Commission Vice President Ahmed Shahid (Saabe) on the matter, he confirmed that the server which contains their data base is connected to the server of Department of National Registration.

But he said that they add the names after manual query and Department of National Registration has only provided them with a read only link for them to take information. He said that no such problem would occur as their server is not connected to internet.

However, the list prepared for the 1st round of the election using this list contained many mistakes such as one name being repeated 247 times and other names being repeated many times etc. The Elections Commission earlier said that they have no idea how one name has been repeated 247 times in the list.
