8 residential blocks reserved for Gayoom’s use

MDP Acting President Ibrahim Hussain Zaki who acted as the official Spokesperson for President Mohamed Nasheed till yesterday has said that to facilitate former President Gayoom’s stay at Presidential Palace, Theemuge, eight- town –sized residential blocks are required and that under the new MDP Alliance government these residential blocks will used in a manner that will be most beneficial to the people.

Zaki made the statement speaking at a media briefing held at press room Fansavees/ Dharubaarge on Monday.

Speaking at the media briefing Zaki said doing away with the incredibly high expenses Theemuge will save the government a considerable amount of money.

Zaki further said in a country like Maldives, a government will be able to successfully provide the services expected by the people by paying attention to government expenditure and ensuring all unwanted and excess expenses are cut downed. Zaki said the new administration will focus on reducing extravagant expenses and minimize government expendutre.
