A friendly country with close relations with Maldives has offered to provide some 1000 teachers to assist the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) led government to realize its educational policies, Ibrahim Hussain Zaki, who was the official Spokesperson of President Nasheed till yesterday has said.
Speaking at a press conference held at press room Fansavees / Dharubaaruge on Monday, Zaki expressed that the main objective of the offer is to help MDP led government to realize its educational polices as well as improve the quality of education and the educational services offered in Maldives. However did not mention which country has offered to provide the said number of teachers raising questions whether the friendly country was a SAARC country.
During the campaign to win the presidency, MDP had repeatedly said all elements of its educational polices are achievable and has given assurances that it will be fully realized. The education ministry in the MDP led Alliance government is to be headed by Dr. Mustafa Luthfy, Vice Chairperson of National Alliance. Mustafa Luthfy has served in the education ministry during in the previous government in several high ranking positions for several years and has distinguished public service record.
