Police to provide security for Justice building

Maldives Police Services has revealed that security will be provided to Justice Building effective 1st December under the rules and regulations of the Police Service in providing security to dignitaries and organizations.

Acting Head of Special Operations Command, Inspector Faruhad Fikury, briefing the media on Thursday at Shaheed Hussain Adam Building provided details of the security arrangements.

Inspector Fikury informed the media that this was being carried at the request of Judicial Administration. He also informed that providing security to the Justice Building is of vital importance.

Police said when the security arrangements are in place, people moving through the main entrance/exit to the building will be subjected to random security checks. Staff members and other people who frequently require access to the building, such as lawyers, will be issued with staff identification cards.

Police informed that there will be no difficulties for citizens who visit the building for various reasons due to the security arrangements. Inspector further said Faruhad Fikury said the arrangements are being carried out in such a way that the public will benefit and will experience minimal difficulties.

The Dignitary Protection Unit of the Maldives Police Service which functions under the Special Operations Command is to provide the security to the Justice building, according to Police Services
