Maldives signs 15 MoUs with CII

Maldives government has signed 15 Memorandum of Understandings, with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), have been signed at a special function held on Monday at the President’s Office.

The function in addition to President Mohamed Nasheed was attended by Vice President Mohamed Waheed, Ministers, State Ministers and members of the CII delegation.

The fifteen MoUs signed, as revealed by President’s Office, are: MoU on setting up of a skills development centre in the Maldives; MoU for cooperation in the Area of Healthcare; MoU between the Government of Maldives and Confederation of Industry on Provision of Quality Education; MoU for cooperation in the Field of Information Technology; MoU between the Government of Maldives and NIIT Ltd, India on Cooperation on the IT Field; MoU between the Government of Maldives and Confederation of Indian Industry on holding a Foreign Investment Conference in the Maldives; MoU for Cooperation on Macroeconomic Issues; an MoU with SRF Group, India; MoU on Infrastructure Development; MoU for Developing Low-cost Healthcare Facilities;MoU with Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited for Development of Healthcare Facilities in the Maldives; MoU with TCE Consulting Engineers, India for Cooperation in the Field of Renewable Energy; MoU between the Maldives National Chamber of Commerce in Industry and CII; MoU between the State Trading Organization and TATA International Limited to Increase Bilateral Trade Cooperation and an MoU on Jointly Holding Tour Tourism Convention in Mumbai, India.

Speaking after signing ceremony, Chief Mentor of CII Tarun Das said that the CII was privileged to have had the opportunity to be part of the Maldives developmental efforts.

Minister of Economic development Mohamed Rasheed also spoke at the function.
