President to outline the future path of the country at the second ceremonial inauguration in office of the Presidency.
Minister Rathnasiri Wickremanayake says the ceremony to mark the second inauguration in office of President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be conducted in a simple but, gallant manner. Many Foreign heads of states including President of the Maldives and Prime Minister of Bhutan will participate in the event. The government has also declared a special commemorative week in connection with the assuming of duties by President Mahinda Rajapaksa for the second term. The Deyata Sevana presidential felicitation national tree planting programme was launched yesterday. A unique exhibition titled as “Nidahasa-Suba Sanskruthiyaka pera dekama” will begin on the premises of Independence Square in Colombo tomorrow. The first vessel will berth in newly built Magampura Harbour on Thursday. Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today Minister Wickremanayake said at the ceremony to mark the second inauguration in office of the Presidency, President Rajapaksa will outline the forward march of the country to the public. Speaking at the occasion Minister Maithreepala Sirisena stated maximum relief would be provided to the state employees from the forthcoming budget. The President has given instructions to the Secretary to the Treasury in this regard. Minister Dallas Alahapperuma who also took part in the briefing pointed out the political stability is essential to rebuild a country. Such political stability has now been created in the country under the leadership of the President. Minister Wimal Weerawansa was also present on this occasion.
